History

1946

FIB Industries was established in 1946 by Mr D.A. van Ekeren under the trading name "Friesch Isolatie Bedrijf D.A. van Ekeren". The company quickly developed into a specialist insulation company for the food and dairy sector in North Netherlands. The company grew steadily and in 1970 moved to its present site on Einsteinweg in Leeuwarden. The company premises were constantly extended over the years with the construction of a number of large production halls.

1983

From an insulation company for the food and dairy sector in the Netherlands FIB developed into a renowned global player for complex stainless steel process equipment and pressure vessels. In addition in the 80s FIB specialised in the production and installation of stainless steel beer barrels and cellar beer systems.

Takeovers

FIB was sold in the early 90s by the Van Ekeren family to HBG subsidiary HCG and in 2000 GTI (now Cofely ENGIE) became the new owner of the company. At the end of 2006 FIB became part of Andus Group and changed its name to FIB Industries.

2019

As of 1 January 2019 the beer department became independent as FIB Beer Systems. FIB Industries can now focus fully on process equipment.
